iTask Innovation

As part of our CPD programme, staff had an exciting opportunity on Tuesday (2nd) after school.

Every department invited a student from each year group to present their iTasks to the rest of the staff. Every year group was represented with highly motivated and enthusiastic students. They presented their iTasks and interacted with staff with confidence and the quality of their work was exceptional. The creativity, depth and magnitude of the iTasks were amazing examples of the thirst for knowledge and love of learning demonstrated by our students.

The atmosphere in the hall was outstanding as the staff and students engaged in very positive conversations about how they have brought iTasks to life. We are very proud of the students who were invited, as they were selected from the whole year group for the quality of their iTasks and their determination to succeed.

Here are some quotes from our students that were shared during the evening:

“It was very interesting to plan a lesson as an iTask because it taught me how to explain a complex grammar point and it’s more fun than regular homework because we get to choose what we can do”
Jennifer Moss Year 9

“I really like sharing my work and talking about what I have achieved. I love this!”
Jessica Lind Year 10

“I like that we don’t get set homework, it means you can be as imaginative and creative as you like. It means I had something to do instead of sitting at home playing computer games…I’m proud to be invited.”
Jack McConnell Year 7

“iTasks have given me the freedom to be creative”
Ria Wilson Year 10

“iTasks have encouraged me to revise and achieve my targets”
Eleanor Lind Year 10

“I prefer iTasks to normal homework as it gives me freedom, my friends in other schools are jealous.”
Matt Thompson Year 7

“I think that iTasks are a good way of setting work. I enjoy the independence that it gives me”.
Taylor Clifton Year 10

“What I love about iTask is that I choose what to do, so I am more likely to spend time making it high quality, and hand in on time because I’m proud”.
Anna Bentley Year 9

“I think iTasks are good because we get to be creative and use our imagination”.
Miranda Tree Year 8

“iTasks are so great because you have the flexibility to select the tasks that you do. They are helpful because you can work on your areas of weakness rather than what you already know. They have stopped pointless homework”.
Molly Williams Year 11

“I think it is really good because it lets me practice things I’m unsure of and it helps me revise for exams”.
Louise Noonan Year 11

“iTask lets you be imaginative and creative “
Oliver Milnes Year 7

“I’m really proud of me!”
James Taylor Year 7
